After watching news coverage over the last 55 days, of this colossal debacle that is currently going on in our gulf coast, I've come to the realization that we, the American people, are the laziest, most insidiously complacent group of people on the planet.

Not because of what we are doing now, but because of what we have failed to do over the last two decades. Which is wake up, look around at what these greedy corporations are doing to the planet we have to live on, and do something about it.

What might we do about it, you ask?

Well for starters, we could stuff the pipe that's steadily pumping oil into the coast, with all of BP's executives, and since we're already at it, anyone else who might be responsible for the destruction of our south eastern coasts.

It might not fix the problem, but it would sure make me feel a lot better about the situation.

Or we could make them pay to fix this mess out of their own pockets, which is probably a more realistic, and I think, more effective solution.

Still, the first option is the one I'm secretly rooting for.
